Summer's Warmth All Year - New Event October 18th

As the days grow shorter and the air gets more crisp, the fall promise of bright color and increasing darkness affects the air and our hearts. The vibrant days of summer, with their endless sunshine and easy pace, seem like a distant memory in the face of back to work and school, trips and family events, and the general bustle of year's end. Every year at this time, I look for a way to keep the emotional warmth and brightness of summer alive even in the coldest of winter months.

1. Capture the Radiance of Summer Memories

The first step in preserving the emotional warmth of summer is to capture those precious memories. Sit down with your photo album or smartphone and relive the moments that made your summer special. The laughter with friends, the awe-inspiring sunsets, and the feeling of freedom—all of these are snapshots of the emotional warmth you want to hold onto.

As you flip through those photos, allow yourself to bask in the emotions they evoke. Let the nostalgia wash over you, filling your heart with the same joy and happiness you felt during those golden days. This simple act can help keep the spirit of summer alive even in the depths of winter.

2. Bring Summer into Your Home

What if you could bring a piece of summer into your home, no matter the season? Consider incorporating summer-inspired elements into your living space. Place vibrant, sun-kissed flowers in every room, hang artwork that depicts beach scenes or nature's beauty, and decorate with colors that remind you of the season.

Create cozy nooks where you can curl up with a good book or enjoy a warm cup of tea while gazing at the summery decor around you. Surrounding yourself with these visual reminders of summer will help you maintain that emotional warmth all year long.

3. Embrace Seasonal Activities with a Summer Twist

Winter offers its own set of unique activities and traditions. Why not infuse them with a touch of summer spirit? Instead of building a traditional snowman, build a "snow surfer" or a "snow mermaid" to bring a playful summer vibe to your snowy landscape. Take winter hikes and appreciate the beauty of snow-covered landscapes, just as you would admire a sun-drenched beach.

Additionally, try embracing winter sports with a summer twist. Go ice skating in a festive beach-themed costume or plan a tropical-themed winter party with friends and family. By mixing the joys of both seasons, you'll find that the emotional warmth of summer can coexist with the winter chill.

4. Practice Mindfulness and Gratitude

Maintaining emotional warmth during winter isn't just about external decorations and activities; it's also about nurturing your inner self. Consider incorporating mindfulness and gratitude into your daily routine. Take a few moments each day to reflect on the things you're grateful for, no matter how small they may seem.

Meditation and yoga can also help you stay connected to your inner emotional warmth. These practices encourage self-awareness, inner peace, and a sense of spiritual well-being. By nurturing your inner world, you'll find it easier to carry the emotional warmth of summer with you throughout the year.

5. Connect with Nature Year-Round

Nature has a profound way of connecting us to our emotions and the world around us. Even in the heart of winter, there are natural wonders to behold. Bundle up and go for a brisk walk in the snow, breathe in the crisp air, and listen to the silence that only winter can bring.

By maintaining a connection with nature, you'll continue to experience the beauty and wonder that summer offers, even if the landscape looks different. Whether it's the vibrant blooms of summer or the glistening snowflakes of winter, both seasons have their unique charm.

As we navigate the winter months, let's remember that the emotional warmth of summer doesn't have to fade away. By capturing memories, bringing summer into our homes, infusing summer spirit into winter activities, practicing mindfulness, and connecting with nature, we can keep the flame of summer burning bright in our hearts. Let's embrace the magic of this season, both outside and within, and carry the emotional warmth of summer with us wherever we go. Winter is an opportunity to discover new facets of ourselves and to cherish the ever-present light within our souls.

As the crisp air begins to turn leaves to red and gold, there’s a sense of excitement about autumn, but for many of us there’s a little worry too – colder temps and shorter, busier days often mean more stress physically and mentally. The Lux Team has been sharing ideas with each other on how to keep some of the easy, warm and relaxed vibe of summer alive all through the winter months. Now, we invite you to join us at the magical Barn at the Crane Estate for a special evening of reflections, lessons and creative exercises intended to help us all hold on to our personal light and heat in the months ahead. We'll eat, drink, reflect, get creative, and build warmth!

Here's what’s in store!

-Gathering just after sunset in the stunning barn at the Crane Estate with its lofts and warm atmosphere

-Meeting everyone other over delicious snacks and beverages by Emma

-A welcome and intention - setting with Cynthia.

-A seasonal meditation/sound healing and some gentle movement to open and warm our body and soul with Lynne.

-Playing with intuition and pendulums with Sandy to think about the months ahead

Free movement between mini sessions with Cynthia, Sandy, Lynne and Emma to take mini mystical light-filled portraits, explore and nurture our unconscious mind, re-center and energize with breath, and delve into meaning with tarot card pulls. Time for journaling and connecting, all around moving gracefully through the change of seasons.

At the end of the evening, you'll leave with some new tools (and hopefully some new friends!) to help you hold onto the light and warmth through the holidays and into the new year. We'll send you home with a lovely bag of treats too.

Please join us! Bring a friend! Make a friend! Fill your cup for the season ahead!
